Tulip Cat

Tulip Cat
Acrylic Sketch on Canvas Paper

Contact me for size and purchase info.

This Maine Coon cat had good taste in floral arrangements and loved to cuddle up on the table next to flowers. This quick piece was sketched from life. I worked quickly since I had no idea if the cat would stay or move.

This casual wash and line painting of Henry was painted to generate a donation to Legacy Boxer Rescue in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas. Henry's mom-woman has seen the painting and wants to purchase it. The funds will be donated to Legacy Boxer Rescue as soon as the payment of $45 arrives in the mail, at which time the painting will ship to its new home.

For my ART HELPING BOXERS fundraiser, I offered pet portraits for half my typical commission fee in hopes that the paintings will sell quickly thereby generating funds to help ownerless Boxer dogs. The deadline for requesting a portrait in this fundraiser was December 2013. There were so many requests, I am still painting from the request list. All fundraiser proceeds (less shipping costs) are donated to help a Boxer rescue organization.

Inquire here to commission a portrait of your pet in watercolor, oil or pastel. You will find more examples of my pet portraits at TXsauce.net

Sketch: Table and Two Chairs

From my sketchbook, a contour line drawing study of a table and two chairs.  I would love to do more of these and need to get back to my sketchbook.

A sketchbook can be a journal of one's daily progress in art. When I take the time to sketch daily, I find a consistent improvement in my drawing skills. The time spent sketching relaxes and inspires my mind simultaneously. When I reach that zen-like zone, my hand seems to move of its own free will without any control from me. What a wonderful feeling! The zone of meditation comes easily when I am focused on the subject at hand.
