"Tufted Titmouse"
7" x 5"
Graphite and charcoal
The black-crested Titmice are common residents in our area of Texas. It isn't easy getting good reference photos of them, as they don't sit still very long. I was lucky to get a good photo, which I used as reference for this drawing. As a child, my mother read to me from a bird book for children. In that book, the Titmouse was called Tommy, so, to me, all Titmice are Tommy Titmouse!  Guess the females are Tommie?
